‘The Reverend Eli Jenkins inky in his cool front parlour or poem-room tells only the truth in his Lifework: the Population, Main Industry, Shipping, History, Topography, Flora and Fauna of the town he worships in: The White Book of Llareggub’
On 14 May 1953, Dylan Thomas and the cast of the first full stage production of Under Milk Wood stepped onto the stage of New York’s Poetry Center, guided by Dylan’s direction to ‘love the words’. We celebrate the 70th anniversary of this performance with an Exhibition featuring objects from our Collection which illustrate some of the ways it’s been interpreted over the years.
We’re currently open from 10am to 4.30pm, from Wednesday to Sunday (and Bank Holidays).
